Power Consumption

Now that we have all of these network appliances, how much is it going to cost me in power consumption and dollars?  The Brand Electronics Digital Power Meter can be used to measure power consumption of home appliances.  Here are some measurements on idle systems, etc., along with cost and efficiency calculations.  Cost in $/mo is figured at $0.11/kWh, kWmonth = $0.11*30*24 = $79.2, Wmonth = $0.0792.  Addendum: I recently received a dual range meter from Brand Electronics and plan to re-measure devices with single digit measurements and computers for peak watts.

 Comments:

I find that power strips with individual switches for each outlet are convenient.
Thanks to Steve Crandall for lending his Digital Power Meter!
