Max Mathews. The Anechoic Chamber

The Anechoic Chamber was a three-story tall room built at the Murray Hill Labs in the early 1940s. It was the world's quietest room. A wire mesh floor suspended researchers and test equipment at the center of the padded, acoustically "deadened" chamber.
